Cow PSP Faceplate Review

Introduction

When I first received the Evolve Wild Jungle Edition PSP Faceplate I was wondering what the hell Brakken was thinking. Then I remember it's rude to look a gift horse in the mouth. I somehow had predicted I would get a fuzzy PSP Faceplate. Now the fuzz might be a problem if its not attached to the faceplate properly. Hopefully it wont come off easily. A good thing about it, is that its not ALL Plastic, so I won't see my fingerprints on the faceplate when I press buttons.

The buttons I got with this faceplate, well they sucked. The directional buttons and [] /\ O X buttons didn't respond well at all, I had to get a feel of where the connectors of the directional buttons were at.

Contents

1x Small Philips Head Jewelry Screwdriver
1x Evolve Cow Skin PSP Faceplate
1x Talismoon Towelet
1x Set of psp buttons

The package you get it nicely designed and looks like something you'd buy off the shelf of a department store.

Installation & Usage

Installation is pretty simple, you get instructions. They're vague, but they do get the basic point across. Hell they even have pictures. Getting the faceplate on shouldn't be a problem. I ran into a crapload of them regardless. The first few times I tried getting it together the directional buttons didn't respond very well. The rubber button pads didn't fit perfectly and caused some lack of performance(since you have to use original sony ones, as new ones are not included.). I noticed after getting it all working properly and fitting well, the X /\ buttons Slanted down to the right. Now being a perfectionist to some extent it bothered me. My gaming experience has to be perfect and well that messed with my poor thumb.

The L and R Buttons got STUCK in their fully upright position and I had to snap them back down, which made me mad, cause not the button doesn't have the same feel it did, and now you can accidently touch L and R and have unwanted things happen(because after being pressed down into 'place' they're half mashed down).

Conclusion

Well if you like cows alot, I'd suggest getting it. If you like having to cut up small pieces of plastic to get psp faceplates to work properly, then by all means have fun with this one. I like the fur concept, its a nice feel and doesn't get greasy fingerprints. The plastic case could have been done alot better. I was really saddened that the product didn't fit quite nearly as good as the original sony faceplate. Overall this thing blew chunks, so unless they just messed up on this one I got, then it aint worth buying.

Positives

Looks nice
Won't get fingerprints near the buttons
   Negatives

Voids Warranty
Button snags and not as form fitting as sony original faceplate.
