Boxwave creator of many accessories for handheld devices has just released their PSP covers entitled the "PSP Gameshield" which comes in three varieties which are the FlipCover, PlayThrough and Enhanced models. Each has their own respective use and work well. I was lucky enough to get my hands on all three of them and here are my results.
Installation
At first glance you notice they are made from a durable see-through plastic and come with two permanently thumb screws so you can easily install it and wont lose them. Fitting them was a breeze as they attach to the screw holes on the top of the PSP on each sides of the USB port.
Usage
FlipCover
It does just what the name says as you can flip it open or closed. This one is my personal favorite as I only own the original black sheath the PSP came with and now using this I can feel confident that if I accidentally drop something on the PSP that it's screen will stay safe, but it is also useful if you do not have anything to put your PSP into as it protects the screen from damage.
PlayThrough
This one doesn't flip open or shut, but does let you access the buttons so you can operate the system. Same as above it will protect your screen from damage and there is no distortion and loss of brightness as you can see the screen as clear as day.
Enhanced
The 'Enhanced' model is an upgraded PlayThrough design which features a thumbstick and button covers. Control is tight like it should be and having a larger thumbstick instead of the normal direction pad will do doubtingly impress some younger gamers, but personally I like the oldschool direction pads better even though they limited in functionality compared to thumbsticks.
Conclusion
Overall I would recommend all three of these products are they are designed and work as promised. You can pick one up directly from Boxwave for a very reasonable price.
